 For all I want to be
      I never quite am.
And what I am is
         only me,
     and nothing more.

 For all I dreamed
        I was,
  Still, I'm just a sham--
        Not even
        a shadow
        of what I
    could have been.

For all my hope is past,
        my dreams
   in shadowed times
            are
       fled away.....

   Remains to me,
      Hope alone...
